With tragedy comes the opportunity to witness many types of compassion and support. Saturday, at District softball was a perfect example of the support which can be demonstrated and felt in one of the most unexpected ways. As the Pattonsburg Lady Panthers finished their season, the DeKalb team took the field with green and white facepaint and the Stewartsville team sent the girls home with flowers and a card for their teammate. There were truly heartfelt concerns expressed by community members from all communities in attendance. If the situation ever arises, in the midst of our daily lives, I would hope that members of the Pattonsburg school and community will be as equally supportive.
