On the week of February 19, DeKalb basketball participated in districts at King City, Mo.
Both the girls and boys had disappointing results losing in the first round.
The Lady Tigers fought the South Holt Trojans, but could not come through in the 4th quarter. The final score was 36-28.
Lady Tigers Coach Kyle Knox had a sour taste left in his mouth.
“I was a little upset about the last quarter and how we played,” Knox said.
The boys played their last game against the King City Wildkats. The boys lost 62-30 in a tough match up.
Tigers Head Coach Cody Jenkins thought the boys did well until half time.
“We played great in the first half but then ran out of gas,” Jenkins said.
DeKalb is losing three seniors: Kristian Derry, Elizabeth Gunter and Morgan Parsons.
Parsons said she is sad for it to end.
“I’ll definitely miss being with the team outside of the gym,” Parsons said.
